You should use this medicine for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your skin is completely cured, you may have to apply it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning. In Fungal skin infections Dermoquinol 8% Cream is used to treat skin infections caused by fungi. It works by killing and stopping the growth of fungi. This provides relief from various symptoms, such as pain and itching, caused by the infection and speeds up the healing process. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. The affected area should be clean and dry before application of the ointment. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. It may cause burning sensation, itching, rashes, skin swelling, and redness immediately following application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact with your eyes. If Missed: If you miss a dose of Dermoquinol 8% Cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
