Introduction: In Fatty liver with diabetes Fatty liver disease is a condition where there is an increased buildup of fat in the liver. Hepexa M Tablet also controls high blood glucose (sugar) levels. To make the medicine more effective and for general health benefits, try to avoid smoking and alcohol, maintain a healthy weight and indulge in some kind of exercise daily.

Description: Hepexa M Tablet is used to treat fatty liver with diabetes. It works by improving blood flow and eliminating harmful toxins from the liver. Therefore, it decreases the production of glucose in the liver, increases insulin sensitivity, and restores normal liver function. Hepexa M Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It must be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. It may cause side effects like nausea, taste change, loss of appetite, diarrhea, stomach pain, and sticky stools. However, these are temporary and usually subside on their own. Please consult your doctor in case these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration. Before taking Hepexa M Tablet, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor will check your kidney function tests before starting treatment with it. Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking it as this may increase the risk of developing some side effects.

How to Use: Hepexa M Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metformin and ursodeoxycholic acid which treat fatty liver with diabetes. Metformin is a biguanide which works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, increasing insulin sensitivity, and improving liver blood flow. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is a naturally occurring bile acid which protects the liver cells from toxins and helps the liver to perform its normal functions.

Safety Advice: - Alcohol : UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Hepexa M Tablet. - Pregnancy : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Hepexa M Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies. - Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Hepexa M Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. - Driving : CAUTION - Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is too low or too high. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. - Kidney : CAUTION - Hepexa M Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hepexa M Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Hepexa M Tablet is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine. - Liver : CAUTION - Hepexa M Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Hepexa M Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Hepexa M Tablet is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If Missed: If you miss a dose of Hepexa M Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
