Description: Isonex 300mg Tablet is an antibiotic used for the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis (TB) and inactive (latent) TB (a serious infection caused by bacteria that affects the lungs and in certain cases other parts of the body). It works by killing the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Isonex 300mg Tablet should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is to be taken on an empty stomach. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early can result in treatment failure and increase the side effects too. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Simply take the next dose as planned. Some common side effects of this medicine include tingling and numbness of feet and hand (peripheral neuropathy). Inform your doctor if you notice signs of jaundice, i.e., yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, or joint pain. You may also develop hepatitis (viral infection of the liver) or increased liver enzymes as side effects of this medicine. Please consult your doctor, as these side effects require medical attention and need dose modification. Your doctor may monitor your liver function while on treatment with this medicine. Avoid drinking alcohol as this may have additional adverse effects on the liver. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

Safety Advice: - Alcohol : UNSAFE - Consuming alcohol while taking Isonex 300mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction). - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Isonex 300mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. - Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Isonex 300mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby. - Driving : UNSAFE - Isonex 300mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Isonex 300mg Tablet can cause fits, mental health problems and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that may cause loss of vision.) This may affect your driving ability. - Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Isonex 300mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Isonex 300mg Tablet is recommended. However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. - Liver : CAUTION - Isonex 300mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Isonex 300mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Isonex 300mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
If Missed: If you miss a dose of Isonex 300mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
