Description: Lactomide Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to reduce excess fluid levels in the body while maintaining the potassium balance. It is used to treat edema (fluid overload) and some cases of hypertension. It is best to take Lactomide Tablet in the morning along with food in order to avoid frequent urination at night time. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Dehydration is a very common side effect of this medicine. It might lower down the level of calcium, sodium and magnesium in the blood. Hence, regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. It might cause dizziness or tiredness if happens rise slowly from sitting position or avoid driving. It is generally safe to use during breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney disease or pregnant. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

How to Use: Lactomide Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Furosemide and Spironolactone. Furosemide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels, but causes potassium loss. Spironolactone is also a diuretic which conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.

Safety Advice: If you miss a dose of Lactomide Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
