Introduction: In Abdominal cramp Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet gives relief from pain and cramps and works best if they are used when the first signs of pain occur. It slows the natural movements of the gut and relaxes the muscles in the stomach and intestines. It also reduces the activity of certain chemicals that causes pain. Inform your doctor if your pain persists or worsens.

Description: Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of abdominal cramps. It relaxes the muscles in the stomach or intestine and stops sudden muscle contractions, thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. Take it in the dose and duration as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or use it for longer duration than recommended by the doctor. The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, loss of appetite, sleepiness, weakness, and dryness in mouth. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing them. Before taking it, you should let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders. Let your doctor also know about all the other medicines you are taking to make sure it is safe for you. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment.

How to Use: Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Mefenamic acid and Tizanidine which relieve abdominal pain. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant which works by acting on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve the muscle stiffness or spasm.

Safety Advice: - Alcohol : UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet. - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. - Driving : UNSAFE - Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. - Kidney : CAUTION - Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. - Liver : CAUTION - Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet is not advised in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before the start of treatment and then on a regular basis as advised.

If Missed: If you miss a dose of Mefcan TN 500mg/2mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
