Introduction: In Migraine Migrest Tablet is a combination of medicines that treat and prevent migraine headaches. It changes the electrical activity in the brain, blocks chemicals responsible for pain sensation and also blocks signals that cause nausea/vomiting associated with migraines. By preventing and reducing the frequency of migraine headaches, it can help you carry out your daily activities and have a better quality of life.

Description: Migrest Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of migraine. It prevents pain signals and fever associated with migraine. It also blocks certain substances in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting during migraine headaches. Migrest Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are weight gain, and dryness in the mouth. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause drowsiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your drowsiness. Migraine attacks can be managed by identifying migraine-causing triggers which may be red wine, caffeine withdrawal, stress, and skipped meals, etc. You can identify personal triggers by maintaining a diary of what you are doing, what you are eating, and any stressful activity happened before migraine attack. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any liver diseases.

How to Use: Migrest Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Domperidone, Flunarizine and Paracetamol which prevent migraine accompanied by nausea/vomiting. Domperidone is an antiemetic and prokinetic which blocks the action of a dopamine (a chemical messenger) in the brain which causes nausea and vomiting. Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker which works by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels in the head thereby preventing migraine headache. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain.

Safety Advice: - Alcohol : UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Migrest Tablet. - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Migrest Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Information regarding the use of Migrest Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor. - Driving : UNSAFE - Migrest Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. - Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Migrest Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Migrest Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. - Liver : CAUTION - Migrest Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Migrest Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, the use of Migrest Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If Missed: If you miss a dose of Migrest Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
