Introduction: In Managing Wound infection Poveradine Ointment is an antiseptic that is used for the treatment and prevention of wound infection. Poveradine Ointment kills and prevents the growth of infection-causing microbes, thereby preventing abrasions, cuts, or any break in the skin from getting infected. The antiseptic effect is caused due to the slow release of iodine. It also contains Aloe Vera that helps to prevent dryness and rejuvenates the skin. Keep the affected area clean and use the medicine as prescribed by your doctor.

If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. You can help this medicine work better by keeping the affected areas clean, making sure they are dry and washing your hands before and after treating the infection. This medicine may cause side effects like skin irritation, redness or itching at the site of application. Please consult your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact of the cream or ointment with your eyes. In the case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention. You should stop taking it straight away if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat or face, swallowing or breathing problems, feeling dizzy or faint and nausea. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. You should let your doctor know if you have liver and kidney problems.

How to Use: Poveradine Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Povidone Iodine and Aloe Vera. Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic. It kills harmful infections causing microorganisms. This is how it works to prevent and treat infections. Aloe Vera is a plant. Its extracts form a protective layer on the skin by restoring moisture, so that it feels hydrated and refreshed.

If Missed: If you miss a dose of Poveradine Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
